About US Property Risk

Data compiled October 22, 2026

US Property Risk publishes ZIP code reports that bring federal flood, hazard, insurance and environmental data together in one place, with the source and date of every figure.

What we publish

Buying or financing a property means checking things that live in a dozen federal systems: FEMA flood maps, the National Flood Insurance Program, FEMA's risk model, EPA's Superfund and toxic release records, NOAA's sea level maps and the Department of Transportation's noise map. Each ZIP report puts them on one page, measured the same way everywhere, with a checklist of the steps the figures point to.

Reports currently cover the 78 residential ZIP codes of Miami-Dade County, Florida. We add counties after their data have been processed and checked, rather than publishing thin pages for every ZIP code at once. The guides explain the rules behind each checklist item.

How reports are made

Every number comes from a public dataset, processed by scripts that apply the same rules to every area; the methodology describes each calculation and the data sources page lists every dataset with its version. Summary sentences and checklist items are filled from the data by fixed rules, so a report never says more than its figures support. Before publishing we check our results against the agencies' own totals, such as FEMA's county count of homes in the high-risk flood zone.

What reports are not

A report describes a ZIP area. It is not an official flood zone determination, an appraisal, an insurance quote, an environmental site assessment or legal advice, and it cannot tell you about a single parcel. Lenders, insurers, surveyors and environmental professionals make those determinations.

Funding

The site carries no advertising and no paid placements, and no agency, insurer or broker has paid for or reviewed any report.
